Default smog check in socal

Hi guys im from socal and i need a smog check on my car. I just have I/H/E in a d15 non v-tec. I know the fact that they wont even check your car if u have I/H on it. Do you guys know where i can go to have it smog check even though i have to pay like 150-200? I just need it asap. thnks for the help.

If the I/H is CARB legal you wont have a problem on those components. If they arent then my other suggestion wont matter.

But, for sake of this post, lets say that they are CARB legal. Why not take that 150-200 you were going to spend on the smog cert. and used that to bring your motor up to BAR standards?

What year is your car and what year is the motor?

And this is probably not a good way to find a place to do an illegal smog check

Is your engine itself the legal USDM one? Do you have a cat in your exhaust? If so, then just spend a little money to get a stock airbox and exhaust manifold, and you'll pass with flying colors. I knew this situation would bite me in the *** with my car, so I held onto my stock intake and header.

BAR standards would consist of an intake/header with a CARB stamp such as AEM intake, DC headers and maybe certain INJEN intakes. No CEL's, timing must be set correctly, and full exhaust including catalytic converter.

If its a motor swap than the motor has to be from the same year as your car or newer. No mixed parts like a LSvtec, H2B, B18c block with B16 head, and no B20 swaps at all. All turbo'd cars must have a CARB legal turbo setup like Greddy or Edlebrock. All EVAP components must be present and hooked up correctly.

If the motor is JDM you most likely need to swap in a USDM intake manifold and all EVAP components etc etc... the list could go on forever and I have left certain things out. You should get the jist of it.

You can pick up a stock air box for like $25-30 and a stock exhaust manifold for around the same price. Its a cheap and easy fix.
