Well my dad rolled his Polaris Sportsman 500 high output, insurance totaled it gave him 4 grand and then I bought it back from them for fifty bucks, I figure at the very least I could sell it for parts for more than 50$ but I looked into it and I can get all the parts I need for about 1000$ so it will be a slow process cause I'm poor but eventually I will have a pretty decent fourwheeler for around 1500$ ish.

broke one of the strut arm things, and all the hubs all the wheels are ruined. needs a new steering post, handle bars, speedometer, headlight, all the hand controls. all new plastics and new racks if I feel the need or if I can't fabricate them myself.

I'll update pic's as I go.

g/l with the rebuild but i think you might be in for it more than what your budget of 1K.

but if its just a hobby and work as you go then it should be fun.

Ebay has a lot of used parts.

How bad did it roll though? I have rolled my Kawi 650, hmm 3 times now once at 40-50km/h. and i just dust myself off, flop it back over, get laughed at by my buddies, and continue on my way

 

I plan on buying used parts off ebay or wherever I can find them, I have found a few that I need already so it's looking good thus far.

but yes it's just a hobby and I am not in a rush so it should be fun.

it rolled pretty bad, probably 100 yards down a hill I didn't see it but my sisters boyfriend said it has bouncing off the ground 3-4 feet each time it rolled and rolled probably 15-20 times.

my dad is okay just a few scratches and bruises.
