D16y7 Need some help

Default D16y7 Need some help

I have been beating my head against the wall with this car. It is a 91 std civic hatch with Dpfi and a d16y7 and it will not start. I have spark and the timming is right. and It has fuel and cranks but no fire.

Are you using ALL the MPFi components?
If you just used the y7 long block and kept the Hatch's intake manifold with all sensors along with the DPFI ECU AND distributor it should have no problem starting. I would need to know more about your set up to give you a better answer.

Yep all i used was the long block. ALL the factory wiring and parts were reused.

im actually about to start the same swap but into an Si...so ur saying its better to just use the Si ecu and bolt up the intake mani to the y7? keep the y7 head?

Yes, I would keep all the si components and just use the y7 long block.
I did that on my HF ( I used the Si I/M and ECU)

To the OP. Check your grounds they are easy to over look. One at the thermostat, one at the transmission, and one at the valve cover.
