Hello. I have a honda Civic LX 2001, and I have a problem either with my transmission, or speedometer. I don't know which of the two it is. For the past two months my odometer/trip meter has been changed from the original miles to something that reads trip AB and has alot of 8's, in the bottom of trip AB. Also in the tachometer were the P, R, N, and D are, the D ( Drive ) It starts blinking. One day on my way to work my car suddenly stopped. ( It doesn't accelerate ) Please can anyone help me with this problem. Please and Thank you.

 

maybe a wiring issue behind the tachometer, maybe you need a new one? probably best to have honda look at that unless you want to go out and buy a new cluster and do a trial and error?

doubt it's your transmission, you didn't state any performance changes like car won't accelerate or things of that nature.

 

sounds liek the ecu is tripping ***** to me. limp mode? ive herd of that maybe that has sumthing to do with it im not 100% sure. are u throwing any codes?

 

When I turn on the engine there is a weird sound, I think it's coming from the transmission. When I drive backwards or forwards the sound stops. The sounds only occur when the car is in park. The car accelerates.
