Default alread searched... tire options for VX wheels

So I have a set of VX's on my car and its time to get some new tires, i wanted to see what people would have to say on here before actually going out to a tire place and talking to them. I want a set of tires that would be for street use but also be put through occasional spirited driving. Any opinions? Thanks.

My opinion is that you didn't bother reading the FAQ topic stickied at the top of this forum:

Forum Rules and FAQ - READ BEFORE POSTING

where it says:

<FONT SIZE="4">The proper size depends on your car, not just the wheels you are using.</FONT>
</TD></TR></TABLE>

If you want to tell us what kind of car this is for - year, model, version, etc - we might be able to answer your question.

Also, what size are VX wheels?

They're on a 1991 Civic Hatch with an inch and a half drop. The size is P175/70R13

Well, the simple fact is that there are basically NO really good street tires in 13" sizes these days. The Sumitomo HTR 200 is available in 175/70-13; it's really not very good, but it's about the best you're going to find. There are some all-seasons that are even worse, but you don't need all-seasons in FL anyway (unless you drive to snowy areas in the winter). Certain track tires are available in 13" sizes too, but they're not really suitable for street use.

I have some Michelin's on my two front ones right now, i think what I'll end up doing is probably going into a tire place and get their opinion, i'm sure they can pull up every tire that is available in that size and go from there i guess. Thanks nsxtasy, and more opinions are welcome

There aren't really any more opinions to give. You live in Florida so you need a summer tire and there is pretty much only one...the Sumitomo. Like nsxtasy stated.

If you want an all season get the yoko avid T4, if you want a winter tire get the blizzak WS-50.....however I don't think you get much snow in Florida.

Cheers.

If you really care about performance for that spirited driving you do, get a set of 15" wheels. Most 15" Integra wheels, such as GS-R wheels (fat fives, blades, etc) will fit fine on your car, and you can find used sets cheap in the marketplace forums here and on eBay. Then you can get some 195/50-15 tires, and there are lots of good tires in that size - everything from the "bang for the buck" Kumho SPT and Yokohama ES100, to the all-around outstanding Goodyear F1 GS-D3, to the supersticky Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R.
