Installing Coilovers!
You can do it yourself if you have the right tools. I think the only specialty tools you'll need are a ball joint separator and a spring compressor. (<-----to take the old springs off) Other than that just standard 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, and 17mm sockets. Good luck.
u don't need to compress springs to get them out. just undo the top of the strut first so when u undo the bottom, so it doesn't shoot out at you. it's really easy, then when u put the coilovers on u just put it all back w/o compressing nething.
we tried that on my left front... ended up bending the stock strut and being a pain to get out.
i think the problem was that one of the control arms was in the way of where it was trying to decompress to.

Thats s one method but a fairly dangerous one. (highly not reccomended) OP those springs are under a huge amount of pressure so when they release, that pressure has to go somewhere. I would not try this unless you are a daredevil, or don't mind losing a few fingers. Not to mention the potential damage to the strut. Spend the extra money to rent a spring compressor, they are like $13 at Advance Auto Parts and will save you the hassle. When you're finished take them back to Advance Auto and get your mula back. My $.02
