Kind sir, if you are to enquire about a problem you are having - spend the freaking 30 seconds it takes to write a COHERENT QUESTION. Are you a Grade 2 dropout or something??

Over revving a motor can cause a number of things to happen
1) bent valves
2) broken valvetrain
3) spun bearings

etc etc

Happy Christmas.

Are you sure it wasn't your rev-limiter kicking in?

Define "over-rev" in this case, y0!

Rev limiter = "whaaaaaBAPBAPBAP"

Mechanical over-rev (ie downshifting into the wrong gear - forces engine to spin past limiter) = "booooom"

Which did you do? What indicated rpm did you see on the tach?
