Default How much paint is needed to paint a 4th gen?

I am getting ready to buy some HOK paint for my lude and was wondering if anyone out there paints, and if so how much base coat, and how much clear do I need for a 4th gen prelude? in qts please.

I was planning on my friend painting it,and was going to go with 2 coats of base and 2 or 3 coats of clear,if that helps. Thanks alot

If nobody knows my friend will be back in about a week, and I can ask him,but I would like to get some ordered,or at least know what Im looking at.

Depends how good of a painter he is You can loose a lot of paint through improper technique and overspray...I would think a quart per coat would be safe.

He is pretty solid,he has been painting for 15 years, alot of custom airbrush stuff, cars, boats, all kinds of stuff so that shouldnt be a problem. So 2 quarts base and Ill just get a gallon of the clear coat. Thanks

Yup thats exactly what it took to paint mine, 2 quarts of base, 1 gallon of clear. Thats was just enough, their wasn't any base left over. So you could get a little extra to be on the safe side, but I think it also depends on what color your painting too.

Remember, You mix the base with reducer. Mine required to be mixed 1:1 so...2 quarts of base makes 4 quarts mixed.

I know HOK is 2.1 base to reducer,and the clear is 2.1.1 with 2 clear,1 reducer,1 hardener.
I am going to get a lil extra, maybe a little 4oz....Black pearl basecoat (pbc-43)is what Im painting it,but its a while out,I have body work up 1st,but its + or -100 degrees in my town into late oct so,I should be good.
