i was told by a friend today that the b18a1 was no good because the rods dont hold up to alot of hp and you cant rev them high.Is this true? if so are they better a d15b2 rods?

 

the fault in the ls motor really is the head
ls rods are much better than d15b rods
not sure how much hp they will hold tho

 

LS rods are weaker then the vtec B motor rods. They arn't total wusses though. As far as the revving the main issue is the rod bolts in them. I have a set of shotpeened and polished LS rods with ARP bolts. I go to 8500 all the time

I've seen setups like this push 350HP for a full season.
