Default 06+ TSX Cams in Si

For those of you not on 8thcivic I thought I would just bring this over.

He bought a set of 06 TSX cams which have more lift and duration than the type R cams found on the 05+RSX type S. most aggressive cams honda has for the K series

1 cut off the resonator in the fender
2 ported DC race header
3 corsport manifold gasket
4 went back to my trusty stock OEM airbox...
5 Hondata reflash
6 NST pulley set
7 ingalls ETD and window welded my stock engine mounts
8 new set of shiftercables with TWM bushings
9 P2R spacer with 2 plastic gaskets
10. TSX 06+ Cams

Wow i'm interested.

I love the TSX engine. My goal was to drop it in an EG hatch, but now learning to autocross and getting a rwd coupe is clouding my vision

Very interesting! Do you know where to find all the cam spec's at? I've been googling and searching forums for days now, and can only find specs on aftermarket ones.

I wonder what the price would be from one of the online discount dealers like majestic honda sells them for.

i'd do TSX cams if they were $200....but $700....$100 more can get you BC spec 4's or skunk 2 stage 3's. hell that money can get you anything that will out perform the TSX cams.

Yeah using the TSX cams would only be cost effective if the price was half of aftermarket units or you happen to come across them in a junkyard or aquired them via trades, or best yet....free!

well the fact is they perform well and dont require tuning... or valve springs. so the spec 4s and stage 3s maybe close to the same price but for the simplicity value and availability.... i would say its fair. when he posts dynos tomorrow i will make my decision on whether or not its worth it.

i can never justify a $700 purchase for OEM cams but thats just me.

im interested in the results dont get me wrong. more power to him for having the doe to throw those cams in.

for me, if i was going to open up the motor
i would go ahead and upgrade everything else
valve springs, retainers...

just as if i was going to upgrade or swap the tranny
i would do the clutch and flywheel as well
mulitple birds with one stone

Damn for $700. For a little more he could have brian crower cams, valve springs and retainers.
Brian crower cams are only 469.99 shipped through our sponsors.
Hopefully he's happy and he likes the results.
