FS: PIC Select Suspension ITR BRAND NEW!
I suppose the voucher is yours to do with whatever you want, however PIC's donation of a full set of coilovers is amongst the nicest items we had to give away.
I am really not trying to be the prize-****, but i think back to Dan GSR who also won this and put the voucher back in the pot bc he knew he wasn't going to use it.
I understand that not eveyone is going to be able to use what they are given, but the prizes given away at the raffle are surely not meant to make money off of.

Dan made an incredibly generous gesture when he gave the suspension prize back...
i was there right next to him, he didn't even hesistate and asked for nothing in return
then, John won the fujitsubo exhaust and gave it to p00p because he already had a fuji on his R already....he also asked for nothing in return
i also think back to how happy Edwin was and how happy everyone was for him when he won the rocket head package because he had just blown up his valves @ expo!
there was a great sense of karma for the NYC crew that night...
this is just not in the spirit of things

that is sooooo true. I gained alot of respect for the NY guys after their generosity at Expo plus they are just really nice guys. I look forward to hanging with them at E8.

I'll have to jump on Parker's side for a second...
To anyone who hasn't tried to foot the bill for a real race car, it is hard to figure out that the "opportunity" of winning something of significant value could mean an extra race weekend, or a new set of hoosier leading to a first win, etc.
I'm sure someone will get these at a decent price, which benefits the original winner, and the new owner. That's a win-win.
To those who have given up prizes because they didn't need them or already had the object in question = extreme gratitude is deserving, especially from the Expo Committee members and the person who won the said previously given up prize.
I'm good either way. We all have to make decisions and live with them.
If I had another "free" set of hoosiers - 1 more win could get me midwest champship in the inagural year for SCCA "ITR" class. I'd sell the suspension without thinking twice (maybe limit to Expo attendees and max purchase price, but nonetheless, that's me).
It's all good...I'm done yapping now. I think I'll watch one of my vids

true. i dont like it either but im neither going to make a stink about it nor think badly upon parker. but im glad people voiced their opinion about the issue.. and calmly.
i got a good chuckle at jon's comment.
ryan is as fast as some r-comp dudes, and faster than others. sad for them. can't wait to see ryan on r-comps.

If you sell the voucher I think you should split the money with Dan since he's the only reason you have it... If I had won it and saw Dan putting it back in the pot for re-draw I would have done the same thing if I knew I wasn't going to have a use for them.
I don't see anything wrong with reselling a raffle prize. Some people driving at Expo don't have Integra's so the parts wouldn't fit obviously.
Last year I won some intake valves from Whoopee Doo Racing but didn't really have any use for them. They offered to substitute a clutch of equal value but I was never able to get ahold of them other than a few IM's. Since I knew I wouldn't install the valves and had a pretty new clutch I chose not to worry about it.

I suppose another way of looking at this would be as follows:
You have a generous friend, who has a spare "something" laying around. He kindly offers you the "something" and you accept. Keep in mind, he only offered you the "something" bc he thought you could put it to use. Well...in fact you wind up not being able to use, or simply do not have the need you thought you might for that "something".
Would it make more sense for you to sell the "something" and pocket the money that your friend paid for that "something", or would it make more sense for you to pass it back, or find someone else who could use it.
I suppose i view our Sponsors as that friend who so generously provided that "something" for free.
I am really not trying to make a stink about the issue, but bc i coordinate the Sponsors for EXPO, i can understand how they would look down upon the act and it influence their decision to participate in the future.

Some very good points made in this thread.

Talk about an awesome evening with those gestures. Only other thing we needed was for Brad to win the tranny.
Goodtimes!

geez guys, have a cow why don't ya! the coilovers were going to go on my H2 hatch, however, my plans have changed for the time being and i don't need them. so... why shouldn't parker sell them?! he was going to be generous enough to give them to me!

Both sides of the table are being respresented, and some very excellent points have been made on both sides. I understand both arguments and I hope no sour grapes come of this. At the same time I am even happier to read about the generousity of the ITR community

Please don't make this about another issue outside of whats at hand. Again.. paRRRker i am not trying to make you look like a bad guy at all, rather i simply want to point out why this would frustrate our Sponsors who have been more than generous to us and the EXPO.

I can see both sides of the "argument". I say it all depends on the situation. I consider myself a pretty generous guy, but if I was placed in this situation and needed the money (for example what Budman was saying), I wouldnt think twice about selling the item. after all is said and done, the item is MINE to do what I wish. just because a few others were generous enough to give up what they won, doesnt mean anyone else needs to do the same. AFAIK there are no stipulations in the raffle rules stating you cant do what you want with the item you win. maybe that will change for E8
