Anyone want to design race car graphics?
I've been struggling to come up with a new graphics/livery package for our new rally car that we are debuting in a few weeks.
It is a Honda "Soda Pop Orange" EF Civic Hatchback.
We have access to vinyl and vinyl cutters for line-art/solid traditional style 'race car graphics' as well as full-color, high resolution printed graphics and vehicle wrap stuff.
Could be a fun project if anyone wants to get something on the resume or just to have fun with it. Pretty much can go buck wild. We're hoping for a fairly unique, stylish and eye-catching livery.
I probably will be able to post a bounty--just don't know how much yet.
The car pretty much looks like this
http://www.hondatuningmagazine....html
Except it is just a pure brand new chassis, no decals or anything on the car.
I will post some 'raw' photos of the car for mockups if anyone wants to tackle it.
Eventually would need some illustrator files to actually cut and print the decals/wrap.

Here is our logo:

Our cars tend to be "envy green", although this one is the old-school early 70s Honda "Soda Pop Orange" color for the Z600s and 1200 CVCCs.

Will try to dig up some photos of the 510 rally car as well.
Some ideas I've been kicking around: I had been thinking of doing sorta a 'stitches' design, basically having sutchers/stitches holding together the body panels, bumpers, etc. Also was toying with some camo designs (orange and a couple other colors), but didn't find one that I really liked.
One critical thing is this: its a rally car. We change body panels like most people chang their oil. So its pretty important the graphics not be TOO detailed that it is difficult to have a spare ready to go. That is why the camo option was kinda cool, because it would be really easy to replace a panel or damage--just slap another camo blob.
I'd be happy to provide the logos in AI or PDF format.
Looks like we'll have a couple of weeks to make a decision.
At a minimum the winner will receive a modest cash prize and a t-shirt. Artist will get credited for the design, which will be seen by thousands of spectators and tens/hundreds of thousands of web viewers. Car may also be in a prominent import tuning magazine(s) over the next year or so as well.
If local (Northwest) may even win a drive at a rallycross, or perhaps a ride at a press stage event. We'll see what we can do.
