92 Accord LX ECU Code 15
Hey everyone, I've been having quite a problem with my car lately. Sorry if this gets lengthy, but I want to get all the details out there so I can get the best advice. Here's the problem:
I got my car fixed (new water pump and radiator) about 6 months ago by a friend of the family. After I got the car back, the car went into limp mode. Keep in mind that the car had been sitting in my driveway for almost a year. I took the car to the transmission place and they replaced the transmission switch. Got the car back and it ran just fine.
My dad drove the car from back home down to school where I am now, about 90 miles. On the way here he said he had no problems with it. The next day I drove it to work without any problems. On the way back from work, my car just cut out and I coasted to a stop and tried to get the car started. At first the car didn't want to start but after some cranking it started back up again. I drove about a quarter mile down the road and it died again and I got it started again. Later that night I drove it around for about 15 miles and had no problems with it so I drove it to work the next day. The car ran fine on the way to work but died on the way back in almost the exact same spot as the day before. So I drove it around more that night to see if I could replicate the problem but it ran fine. The next day the same thing happened, car died in the same spot.
I searched the net and found it could be a main relay problem. The day my dad drove the car down it was cool. The mornings and nights were cool here too but the afternoons on the way home from work were above 90 degrees.
I then checked the error codes and found an ECU code of 15; ignition output signal.
Now to the main question: Could I be getting this code from a bad main relay? Or is it something else in the igntion system?
Sorry this is so long but I just wanted to get all the details out. Feel free to insult me on the length of my post.

Hey, I'm no expert but I'm curious about this now too
I'd just try switching out the main relay and seeing if that fixes the problem. They aren't too expensive.
Good luck

Code 15 can possibly be the coil or igniter. Most likely the igniter though.
