Valve adjustment question?
I am new to Hseries. I just adjusted all the valves according to chilton's specs. Intake .009 to .011 and exhaust .011 to .013. I adjusted them the way I have always adjusted valves, in between the adjustment screw and the valve cap. Then I read the DIY valve adjustment in the FAQ's. It shows him using the feeler gauge between the cam lobe and the rocker. And from multiple comments it looks like they all are using like intake .005 to .006 and exhaust .007 to .008. Now I'm nervous. I have a usdm 97 h22a4 with type-s cams. Some honda guru set me straight please!!
Do they make a Chilton's for a '97 lude ?? Anyways, my Chiltons for the 4th gen does NOT say "" Intake .009 to .011 and exhaust .011 to .013 "", I don't know where you got those numbers, but they are incorrect. .006-.007 IN, .007-.008 EX are the specs for the h22 series.

what type of guages do you have?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I have both sets of feelers if by imperial you mean standard. And there is a big difference between both of them.

They do make one for a 5thgen lude and I got the numbers from the valve clearance section from the spec sheet of the manual. If I have to I will take a pic of the page when I get home. And also I'm assuming the gauging at the cam lobe is the same. I'm not really worried about that. Just the specs.

Yeah I heard that. The lude I got my motor from Has a lot of the roof ripped off including the hood. I think Ill just feel better if someone with a 5th gen tells me what they set theirs at and the car runs good. Or if someone has their stock hood that would work too.

you were quoting the h23 specs man...h22s are .006-.007 intake and .007-.008 exhaust..invest in angled feeler guages and a snap on adjustment tool if you have a h22...h23's are way easier and only require a standard wrench, feeler guages, and a screwdriver
