Now that the crx is running well in the 3-4 k range I noticed another problem. In the morning when the engine is cold I see the rpms run from 1k to 500k and sometimes it stalls out or almost stalls at that rpms. My buddy said it might be some idle valve I cant remember the name. Is that easy to fix? I adjusted the idling screw but it didn't seem to help much, I also reset the computer beforehand (I added new spark plug wires, dizzy cap and rotor to cure the 3-4k stumbling). My 89 crx is stock 1.6 if that helps.

Is there anything I can do?

 

if it's a surging idle, it's probably due to air in the coolant going through your evac and setting it off... to fix it, crack off the rad cap, run it with the heater on until the fan goes on at least once, then bleed through the t stat...
