Buddy Club Header or LSD Cat back
I couldn't find any Dyno's of the two parts individualy. Basically in our quest to make more power we are working our way through our list, we are looking to pick up what is making the most power. So Between the Buddy Club header and the LSD cat back which is making more? We already have Injen Cold air intakes.
Also I'm sure someone will pony up and say neither, get XXX XXX.

some guy on the ocho put down 200whp with SSR header and an intake. i would guess that the buddy club would give you around the same. after seeing alot of dynos on that site though the most restrictive part of our exhaust system seems to be the cat.
you're almost comparing apples to oranges. i wouldn't compare HP numbers between two different components. if you get the cat back you'd be limited because you don't have the header and if you get the header you'd be limited because you don't have a catback.
All I am asking is out of the two which is going to net me the biggest gain. Obviously If I could buy both, I would, then I wouldn't be asking this. I just want to get the one that is making the most power 1st.
get the exhaust first. seems backwards to me to get a header first only to run through the stock exhaust.
but it really doesn't matter if you plan on getting both anyways.
everyone here is so hung up on HP. who cares how much HP either of those make...just know that it will be more than what you have now.

A bottleneck is a bottleneck. The same could be said, what's the point of a cat-back if you have a cat bottlenecking it first.
It's going to be a personal opinion of which to get first. I've got the Buddy Club header and stock exhaust. It's got a good sound to it and not overly loud, with performance gain as well. I don't have any dyno #'s, but there's definite improvement (just got the butt dyno calibrated

Yeah track use only. I thought I'd go do some dyno runs and see where the cut out makes power and have an RPM window switch to control it to open and close at the right rpm.
I had a 91 Si with a B16 and ran an open header. It drove me insane, so much just to make things tolerable I put on a resonator. It was still loud but way better than before.
Some might argue that it’s illegal or polluting the air. If that is a concern then why buy a race header or modify your car at all.
From what I have read Buddy club has the only good header out so far that doesn't delete the cat. I live in Arizona so they check for that sometimes.

the whole electronic RPM control might not be practical. i dont know though.
i thought BC's header does delete the cat.

I planned on using an MSD RPM window switch. This would open the the Electric cut out automatically at the preset rpm.
as far as the buddy club header goes it replaces the cat with the provided test pipe.

You even quoted it and acknowledged it in this post.

exactly, it's a test pipe meaning no cat. you said it doesn't delete it.

gotcha, you confused me.
also, I'm not exactly sure about this but most race headers run a little longer than the stock header thus the reason for a test pipe. the stock cat might be too long to hook up to the header and exhuast.

I see what you are talking about. I dont think they would provide a test pipe if it didnt boltup in place of a catalytic converter. perhaps someone could post up a pic of it installed in either mode. I doubt that any will though.

they provide the test pipe so you could bolt it up. I can probably put money on it that the test pipe is shorter than the length of your cat.

You are correct. Your cat section is a good 6 inches longer than the "test pipe" section of the BC race header. If you want and exact length let me know. I've got my BC header off right now. Removing that section only allows for easier installation and removal, although it's not necessary.

then how on earth would the the exhaust system bolt up from the test pipe back?

OK, I'm thinking you're not understanding the demensions of the header.
The Buddy Club "header" portion is longer than stock header.
Stock catalytic converter is longer than Buddy Club "test pipe".
Therefore, BC header + BC test pipe = stock header + catalytic converter.

yup! just look at pics of the BC test pipe they provide with the header then look under your car and see how long the cat is.
EDIT: if you wanna run the header with your cat then your exhaust piping will have to be modified a little.

I found out that the only reason there is a test pipe included is to make up the difference in length between the RSX Type S and Civic Si. This header is the same header used for the RSX Type S.

haha. your choice though not me
