Default JUN ecu

I am getting a JUN ECU with the OBD1 conversion. All I have so far is the AEM CAI. I am debating whether to advance my timing or not. Do you think with the JUN ECU and OBD1 it would be better to go ahead and advance it or just keep it at the stock setting? The guy who I am buying the ECU from said they expects my car to have 225-230 hp to the flywheel that is. That sounds a bit much. Can anyone tell me how many whp I can expect? Thanks!

Its a 98 type R. I only have the AEM CAI right now. I am going to get an exhaust. I really want the Tanabe Racing Medallion but I hear so many good things about the Thermal. How does the thermal exhaust sound? The only other things I have are a short throw shifter, Clutch masters stage 1 clutch, and SO3's Pole position tires. What do you think...Oh yeah, I am getting the ecu and the obd1 together for $525. Thanks

hmm 225-230hp sound kinda high without any other mods, 525 is a really good price. Is the ECU p28 chipped or p72??? They are usually designed to work better with the more lift and duration of the JUN CAMS. But ya never know until dyno day maybe some other people will have somemore feedback for you as well as me

The JUN ECU is "designed" for use with JUN cams, valvetrain, and header on a high-compression engine.

I think it will hurt at mostly stock car such as yours (WAY too much fuel).

Honestly I don't think JUN ECU is what you need. That ECU is programmed for mod specifics, meaning it is pre-programed by JUN to what your car has or will have. Like "ITR 98-0652" said it is mainly designed for there cams. Not telling you what to do, but I think your better off with a Apexi vafc, more flexible for simple bolt ons and even if you decide to go with cams in the future. If you want a drop in ecu you could consider a mugen or spoon ecu, they deal with more towards a stock car than JUN does...correct me if I am wrong fellas. Hope this was helpfull to you in any way.
