Right now i need the car done by next week and have alot of stuff I have to finish up on it before next tuesday. Im in the process of doing the ABS delete on my 5th gen and was thinking about how safe or realable full stainless would be ? The car is only going to see a few thousand miles a year max and never be driven in rain or snow. I figure this would be a hell of alot easier and faster than bending the lines, however if I cant then I cant. Just want to know if any of you have tried it.
I would check the tolerances of the steel braided line and see what kind of pressure they are rated to,and then see what kind the difference is between those and the hard lines.Me personally, I would bend them....at least like 12" or so off the M.C,then go to stainless to be safe.....
But if you want reliable brakes.....do it right, and remember....if it worked, every one would opt for that route....as oposed to the tedious task of bending them by hand.
But if you try....keep me posted...Im curious.

It will be easier to make, but a lot more $$$$. Plus SS lines will expand more than metal lines...and it may make a difference with such long lines. It's not like it's just a couple feet or anything.
You sure have been messing with this ABS removal for a while, man
Sounds like you're getting close.

Well im juggling that and the motor build right now. And had some complications with the head that most of you saw. I really just started the ABS removal about a week or so ago, but have been researching it for awhile.

i have the fronts finished with hard line. However the rear right looks like its gonna be a PITA to make some of those bends. So i was thinking of using a stainless line from the proportioning valve all the way to the old brake line ends. I found all the fittings that would work however idk if they will hold that kind of pressure.
bending a solid line isnt hard at all. you can do it by hand if you go slow, and the tool cant be more than a few bucks. it prolly take about 15 minutes, at most. then run the flex lines from there.

i know ive bent brake lines before however the way this run is not easy to get to. Especially on ur back in a driveway with the car on jackstands. It looks like the tank will have to be dropped. The issue is will the braided line work right with too much flex and has anyone tried it before ?
Or if anyone has replaced the line that runs to the right rear let me know how it was cause is looks pretty damm hard.

Hey man, I sent you this pic already but here are my rear hard lines that I did:

I did have the rear cross-member removed so that helped a lot, but overall it was not incredibly hard. You can bend the 90's and such with a pipe bender and the use your hands to do the little bends to ge the line to fit where you need it to go. Also be carefull when you tighten stuff and make sure nothing gets twisted.
