Default 96 civic lx keyless module

I have searched and not found anyone that tried to just use the keyless module part from the factory radio. The small module attached to the factory radio. I just wanted to know if I could just remove this module and plug it without using the factory radio and still keep keyless entry, and not have to wire up extra wires. Thanks

The module attatched to the HU is the OEM alarm, the door lock module is in the drivers door, however, the RF section is in the OEM HU. so the stock unit has to be left plugged in or if you add an alarm you can use it's RF section and door lock outputs for key-less entry.
This may help... http://www.installdr.com/Insta...3.pdf 94

It could be done, If someone would like to donate a radio that has a keyless. I will figure it out and make it work.

Sorry for the thread crap, but, The radio was replaced in my car, and another keyless put in (it doesn't have an alarm, or if it does, it's useless)
Question:

If I get another head unit (the aftermarket one is crap) can I get the harness from crutchfield, grab the orig radio and have it work agian? I mean, I would have to get some factory key fobs, but that leaves the problem of finding the POS alarm that is installed now.

I guess I could just follow the blinker lights until it got spliced, unless he who has two way alarm as an avatar knows and easier way.

(BTW: only way i know my car had it to begin with it because I have a 98EX which had it standard)

Why not just replace the "POS" key-less and maybe alarm, with a new alarm?
You don't want to know what Honda wants for an OEM remote, you would also need to install the stock HU behind the dash, you will need this harness... http://www.scosche.com/scosche...HA07B

A basic, brand name alarm from an authorized dealer will cost you under $100. 94
