Hi there. I own a '92 Honda Accord and the sometimes the D4 light flashes when I attempt to start the engine. When that happens I have to turn off the car for 10-15 minutes before trying again. Sometimes that works--often times it doesn't. I've noticed that the car is especially susceptible to this problem when the weather is hot and humid. I have read several different topics where other Honda's of the same generation have had the same D4 problem, and that it is most likely a dirty solenoid. However, I am not too knowledgeable about the different transmission-related parts, so my question is:
Which solenoid(s) should I look at first? If there are any guides on how to clean the solenoids or any manuals showing where they are located I would greatly appreciate it if you could post them. Thanks.

I looking for help for a automatic transmission issue with my 1992 Accord LX. I have a solid D4 light that stays on even when I shift to another gear (both light go on then) the car in very, very slow on acceleration and will not up shift into D4. I've replaced the VSS and TCU with no change. When I replaced both trans solenoids the problem was solved for two days then whet back to it's old ways. I've tested the new solenoids and they are working ok. I've also changed the trans fluid. I haven't pulled the center console where the shift lever is located nor do I know what if anything to check in that area. Any suggestions are appreciated.
