Default PG7 or PM6

What ecu do you guys think would be better, I have a z6 pre obd in a crx the ecu is all i need lef to get it running, I would go with a pm6 but the redline is kinda low and i was thinking if the teg ecu would work with no probs I would like to go with that one because of higher fuel cut off. Any information would be apreciated.

Default Ecu

You can use the PM6(Si) computer and it'll wrk but it won't run exactly right. I'm still running my Mini-me swap off the stock Si computer. I think the better bet is to run a PG7(88-98 teg) ECU. The spark and fuel maps in the PG7 are closer to what the Z6 cam profile likes.

Default hmmm =PM7

from the dynos, on ZC DOHC (h/e/i)
PM6 vs Pg7 basically 2whp and 2lb/ft of torque from 3k rpm on, but PG7 tends to run rich and fouls plugs and 02 quickly the power made quickly can disapear

PM6 vs Pm7 power is made from 4.5k rpm and gains are of 2whp and 2-3lb/ft of torque more, but much better gas miealge, no fouled 02 or plugs

Pm7 has a redline at 7200, same with Pg7
PM6 has it at only 6800rpm

from dynos d16z6 doesn't make power after 6900-7100rpm, but ability to rev little more can be beneficial...

remeber that there is some difference 88-9 vs 90-1 ecu, also 90-1 can be rechipped to ZC spec, while the 88-9 is not chiapble

It's worth noting that the 88-89 ECU(PG7) runs a 1.6L(D16A1), the 90-91 ECU(PR4) runs a 1.8L(B18A).

I've gather So far that this is about the best order i've deduced for running a mini-me

P28 + OBD1 conversion
Zdyne 1-wire
PG7/PM7 + RPM switch
PM6 + RPM switch

We're talking about running a D16A6 block +Z6/Y8 head combo(mini-me). The only truely correct ECU would be a P28, and an OBD-1 conversion.....but that just sounds like a pain in the ****. A Zdyne 1-wire conversion would be pricey, but would work also. The WOT and global spark values are closer to a P28 in the PG/M7 than in the PM6 ECU. So this make is a bit bette cadidate for the Mini-me swap.

<---- Who needs to hook up the VTEC in his mini-me swap. Sso that he doesn't have just have a high C/R Si engine under the hood

TGS: Correct the PM7 is a JDM ZC ECU.

89_Y_49: Really? I know it's not that it's not that difficult. I'm pretty sure on what all to do. OBD-1 injectors/ECU/dizzy right? The wiring harness......hmm everyone wants to rip somebody off for $150 for just some wires and connectors.

This is some good info. I just bought a z6 but it didnt have the ecu, distributor, or injectors. I have been trying to decide what ecu to run. I want to build it for turbo and run DSM injectors with a vafc so maybe i will use a teg ecu. Any opinions on this?

As of now i really dont have to many parts for my turbo setup. the engine is stock for now, im gonna get everything put it on and drive it for awhile around 4psi that way i get everything running good, then i will have a block built to handle boost+n20. Parts I have/ NX dirrect port, fresh rebuild on t3, drag manifold, sard fpr,and some manderal bends for the charge pipes.
