Anyone ever use General Exclaims uhp?

It's a budget performance tire, offering decent performance at a bargain price. It's in the same segment as the Yokohama ES100 and Kumho Ecsta SPT, which are the best tires in this segment. The performance of the General Exclaim UHP isn't quite as good as the ES100 or SPT (as you can see in the test here), but it usually costs less. So if you can't (or prefer not to) spend as much as the SPT or ES100 cost, and you don't mind a very small step down in performance, it's not a bad choice.

They are garbage. I have them on my 94 Mazda Miata, and the side wall is sooooo soft. The cannot handle the corners well at all, I could use to take this corner on the freeway at 80+ (marked for 30) with my old tires, with these new Generals they handle like when I'm taking the corner with our Explorer. They shouldn't be compared to the ES100's since the Generals have too soft of a sidewall. They have a nice thread pattern, I would never buy these again tho.
Note - my previous post (quoted by old man neri) states that the UHP is cheaper than the ES100 and SPT. That was true at the time I wrote it, shortly after the UHP was introduced. Now, the UHP is about the same price as the ES100 and SPT (in most sizes). It still doesn't perform as well as either one.
They suck man. I am running them right now. I had Proxes4 beforehand, trying to save a little money, these are CRAP. Not only is the wet traction FAR worse, they don't grip as well, my tires chirp even with my y7 engine, the brakes lock too soon, the sidewalls flex too much, and my MPG actually went down noticably. The proxes, even tho they did all of that better, still with its grippy tires managed to net a better MPG and I got 32k miles out of them. Its worth the money (just in fuel) to step up and go with the Toyos.
Best rated tire on tirerack.com? No way, and they don't even RATE Toyo.

Wow, what terrible advice!
As noted above, there are better summer tires than the General UHP. However, the Proxes 4 isn't one of them. Heck, the Proxes 4 isn't even a summer tire. The Proxes 4 is an all-season tire, and not a particularly good one, either. I disagree with your assessment; if it's not winter, the General UHP will easily out-perform the Proxes 4. But I wouldn't recommend either one of these tires; you can get better tires for less money than either one. If you have to use the same tires in snow as the rest of the year, you're stuck with the compromises of all-season tires, but you would be much better off getting the Kumho ASX (better tire, less money) than the Proxes 4. And if you don't have to use the tires in snow, good summer tires will give you better performance than all-seasons, but the Kumho SPT (also the Avon Tech M500) is much better than the UHP.

That's because the Tire Rack doesn't sell Toyo tires.
Toyo makes some decent tires for the money. The Proxes 4 isn't one of them.
