Hail Help!
First of all, whats up everybody? I'm new here...
Just moved to DFW area and bought a 07 Civic Lx Coupe. I'm living with my uncle and theres no room in the garage for my car. I haven't had any problems yet, but I hear that this area gets hail regularly, so I'm trying to find a way to protect my new baby. I've been searching the net, but have only found some pretty expensive options. Any ideas? I'm thinking about trying to make something I could store in the trunk and throw on when needed.

if so... http://www.collegehillshonda.c...r.htm
might be expensive, but they arent cheap for any car.
or you could build yourself a car canopy but those run in the $200-$350 price range

Idea - get some foam padding from an upholstery shop, cut it to fit the body panels that could be hit (trunk lid, roof, hood) and magnet strips to the back. Cover the strips of magnet with soft but thin cloth and stick it to your car when the hail is coming!

That was me, I avoided this by literally 5 seconds. Saw a *X model coupe with no rear window while this stuff was coming down.
Welcome to honda tech, also check out the DFW/Austin/Houston/SA Car club we have going. Love for you to join up man. We are planning a private track night in a couple months, along with an event at Apex sometime in the future as well.

Sounds like a great idea! I would attach it to the inside of the cover myself. Hard packing styrofoam will take some abuse too.
