knocking in b18c1
i over-revved when someone pulled out in front of me and when i slowed down the engine turned off when i tried to restart it there was a knocking so i just pulled over and waited for a friend to pull me home i was thinking it was either a bent or broke valve i have no compression in the 1st and 4th cylinder i pulled the head off and there r no marks on the pistons or the valves where they mightve hit is it possible that one of the layers of the multilayered head gasket blew and the knocking was just the valves trying to push water is there a chance of hydralicing (water in cylinders) because when removing the head there was water in the 1st and 4th cylinders is there a chance that the hydralicing could cause the knocking noise this is really testing me because im trying to figure out what is wrong and nothing seems to b wrong all the help u guys and gals give would greatly b appreciated i hope this all isnt too confusing
hydrolocking could be caused if you drove through water, if it was dry out, it wouldnt really be all that possible.
How did you overrev in the first place?
if it was raining, why were you driving in a way that could cause an overrev

if u were to read my original post then u would know how i over revved......and after thinking about it the fluid came from being TDC before pulling the head
so that problems solved im gonna work on it in a bit and maybe get some pics to post of the top of the pistons and the valves themselves there r no marks on either so im gonna turn the head upside down and pour gas in the combustion chambers therefore....if the gas leaks out then i have some valves messed up hopefully its just the head gasket all ye on Honda-Tech pray for me

is the knocking comming from the head?....im not saying this will work but my cousin had a problem with his engine knocking....he changed his oil and it stopped...give it a try if you want
dont know if it is still knocking the head is now off im gonna turn the engine upside down and pour gas in the combustion chamber u know to see if it leaks out that should tell me if the valves r bent or broken at least that works on bike engines
Well if the valves were bent you could see the valves physically bent. But what i say you do is drain your oil.. Check to see if there are any scraps of metal in it. and then with the oil pan off. turn your engine around and look at your rod bearing/journals and look at your connecting rods to see if there is any type of wierd coloring. if its goldish purpulish or bluish.
oil pan is off and there is metal in the oil pan looking tomorrow at the bearings and crank u say i should look for discoloration???? my fater-in-law is helping me with this he used to race and work on his own bikes before he did the family thing its a pro and a noob working on it he says if its a bearing we will just pull the engine and put it on a stand he wants to help me rebuild it if we have to GOD forbid

once i over boosted on accident in my sohc vtec turbo and i bent my rod into a C lol my friend in his lsv over reved and spun a rod bearing but rod bearing isnt too bad its an easy fix better than having a bent rod thats for sure
i over revved several of times, 1 being misshift while racing, 1 being having to downshift suddenly to try and slwo myself from tboning a truck, and another time just showing off, my engine seemed to like it and runs perfectly fine lol, wtf were you doing?, b18c1's shouldnt gethurt that bad from over reving,.................. is there something ur not telling us, or... prolly got one of the b18c1's that was being put together by a drunk ***** >.<

Wow thats some of the most ignorant **** ive seen in a while...but to add to the post if theres metal in your pan thats never good...

i already have the skunk2 valve train but if im going to boost in the near future would i want to put ITR pistons i was going to go with low comp pistons and which cams would i get i know there is a difference between ITR and GSR cams so wouldnt i want to get some that i could put in now without the lose of power and i say that because i know if i put low comp pistons in now without boosting then it will run sluggish right
