Default DC5 brake setup

i'm lookin to get some serious brakes for my dc5 since i do alot of auto-x and will be doing a lot of trackdays in the future. Just wondering what people run as far as brake setups for racing purposes. I was thinking of getting ap racing brakes, does anyone have any suggestions??

Get a set of Cobalt Friction pads. The GTS pad will be great for auto-x and track use. If you are in need of a higher pad on street tires on track, then go with the XR3's.

Most aggressive pads will be noisy and dust.

You don't need a complete new brake setup...you just need to try different pads first.

I recommend CarboTech ... I've been running their pads on my EP3 for about 3 yrs now ... excellent modulation and stopping power! I'm currently running the 1108 compound (meant more for HPDE track days) ... you could get by using the Panther+ (1106) compound for AutoX events. They tend to make a good bit of noise until up to temp (this can be expected with any high performance pad), they do make considerable dust, but it's non-corrosive (so your paint and calipers will stay happy). Rotor life has been excellent ...

Prices are affordable ... and they usually run pad/rotor sales. Great customer service ...

If you are into racing, and have big wheels with agressive tires, I'm coming out with an RL retrofit. It uses the new Acura RL caliper, which uses an 8lb aluminum 4-piston caliper, a BIG *** pad, and either a 12.3" or a 12.6" rotor (I should have it prototyped within two weeks.) It will go for around a grand, which is a lot cheaper than three grand for a full aftermarket setup (and this gets to use blank rotors
