I am so SICK of Dealership crap..... (videos)
I just picked up my car from my honda dealership to try to fix the moon/sun roof shaking.... and for an oil change.......
ok so i got my car back today! First thing i notice. the moon/sun roof still shakes when music is playing and when im driving. Its getting very annoying and driving me insane. I know where the shaking is from. If i apply pressure on the ceiling my sunroof dosent shake... is there some way i can fix this? here is my video of this...
oh sorry for the crappy rap..
Oh and they also gave me a couple of other presents.... like a scratch on my driverside pannel..... my dealership gives a full car wash inside and out... so ... no idea how that happend.. heres a picture of that...

And now every time i open my civics driver sides door it shakes loud... almost like glass is shaking inside the door. AND last but not least there is a dent above my driver side door! any suggestions on how to fix the dent or repair the scratch? i know its hard to hear in the video but it is there i noticed this as soon as i got home from the dealership .... i took a video of both of them....
Any idea how to fix these problems? My dealership would most likely just deny all of it. I love my daily driver but stuff like this is really getting me p.o.'ed. My 99 boxter never any troubles like this..

its cause you have the window down. My car has always made a shaking/rattling noise when I close the door with the window down, but when its up its fine. As for the sunroof IDK I don't have one.
I think its just dumb how people get sooo up set about little rattles and squeaks. After all it is just a civic, not an acura rl, and cars don't last forever. There is wear and tear and parts come loose and things rattle. get over it.

yes but if the scratch has been there before that, then it's not their fault and they're not liable. Either way, the moment he recieved the car, he shouldve made a case about it but he didn't so they're not liable anymore.
As to the window shaking, of course the window will shake because it is only help on the sides thus when you close your door, your window will shake. Take a look at an all-glass door with the thickness of a your car's windows.
As for the sunroof rattling, I don't hear it. It may be there or it may not be there. Either way, it is probably because of the bass and the loud music, don't you think?
No loud music = no rattling
Real Loud music + bass full = rattling...see the pattern?

even though its just a civic its still a $21,000 car. And Honda is supposed to have good build quality, even for a "cheap" car. I dont want my brand new car to be leaking and having panels rattle just because its a civic.

What is this Honda build quality everyone raves about? Honda's are known for being reliable and able to rack up high miles. I've never once in my life heard anything about Hondas ever being more than that. I think this Honda build quality thing is fan boy related.

First of all, forget the kid who said to quite whining about rattles. New car shouldn't have rattles.
My sunroof is horrific now. The worst part is it was never broken until I brought it in to fix something else, and they broke the sunroof. Now it rattles when I play music as well.
If you can, try and stuff foam into the part that you are depressing in the video. Anything stopping it from shaking will stop the rattling.
As for the interior, get them to fix it ASAP so they can't blame it on you. Same **** happened to my dash on my LX, and I made them rip out the entire dash because.. I'm not going to settle for a gouge in my new car if I didn't' cause it. They all acted like I was being a whiney bitch about it.. but c'mon, you wouldn't do it to your own car, so don't do it to mine.

i had my dealership made the 10,000 km service, and they returned me the car with a nice 'stain' of another cars bumper...i didnt notice it at the delivery, but about 45 mins later...so i got back to the dealer, and demanded an answer, they said,,,,o theres no green car (the paint was green) on the lot...it couldnt be here....so i told them to see the check list they made when i took the car in...and oh surprise...there was no damage to my rear bumper....anyway, they didnt accept responsibility but agreed on buffing the bumper to remove the green paint....like theyre doing me a favor...GTFO
dealers suck, you should fight for what its right and demand every detail for as minor it is for they to take responsibility, and repair the damage...good luck

i would kind of side with this guy only because all i seem to see in this forum is people crying and freaking out about the dumbest crap like its the end of the world and how the dealership is out to "screw" them. some of you should own a mercedes and see what real problems are.
dont get me wrong, i love my 4door si. its my first new car and im kind of **** about it as well. but as a dealer employee my advice to people who have the littlest problem with their car is simply: bring it back. you have a new car with a warranty. also you all may not know that most service departments make money based on customer satisfaction so the smart ones will do whatever it takes to make sure you leave happy. that doesnt mean go to the dealership like a crazy person demanding the world but if you go in there with a good attitude they will work with you. hope that helps.

Some notes...
The rattle actually comes from the rear of the ceiling where the clothlike material meets the glass, my dealer insulated it with something and it went away. The door, mine does the same thing, but only when the window is down, dunno about yours. As for the damages, I usually do a walk around overlook of my car after a dealer has handled it. They do one before they touch it, you should do one before you get it back. Once you leave there is little proof that they did it.

It's easy to say these things when you're a young guy whose parents bought you a car.. you don't know the perception of spending 15-23k thousand dollars on something. When you do, you expect it to remain problem-free for a while.

i tell the dealership NOT to wash my car when i take it there. because before i blew my block and had to have it replaced and they gave me a "courtesy" wash i had no ZERO 0 swirls... i get it back and i have swirls, i have long thin scratches, and little pathes where it looks almost like someone ran some 600 grit sandpaper across it. i hate the stealership
