Default Best internals for the H22A

this is what i just got...
H22a 40,000km comes with interenals (pistons and rods and crank)
powdercoated block (black) honned and ready for assembly
closed deck block perfect for boosting
head - everything included, valves, cams etc..
oil pan
H22a RACE copper 1 piece headgst

i want to build it right so im wondering what would be the best thing to do with it. so far i was thinking bore it out, port & polish. if im going to boost it would shaving the head be a good or bad idea ? im going to sleeve it as well. this build is going to be done over the enxt 3-5 years so i want to do it right.
any input it good, thanks.

im not sure wats best for boosting . . but i know wats best for N/A. . . if ur going N/A its best if you get the JUN cams and super pistons. . . those i think are the best out there so far . . but they are expensive . . . . other than that . . second best for higher rpm would be the skunk2 cams. valves, springs, and retainers. . . .

If you want the best, I can put you in contact with Paulus Lee, designer and builder of some >1000hp Honda drag engines. He'll set you straight. Of course it'll cost you >$20,000, but you didn't specify a budget... These threads are pointless.

its not pointless.. i was looking for some info and advise on what to use when i rebuild my H22, i've never done it before so i'm not sure what parts to use.
as far as i know right now is im going to get it bored out, port & polished, im going to do the intake port as well. i was told shaving the head would be bad if i plan to boost it. not sure if this is a rumour or truth.

Well u can answer your own question.......high compression good for n/a builds, but not for boost. What are your plans? You have to pick a side, because its nearly impossible to build/tune for both.

do not mill "shave" the head especially if you are boosting. and what do you want to do?? N/A or turbo?? totally different builds. decide on which one and then we can give you some advice.

Go with wiseco pistons and eagle rods. good for boosting. and i suggest darton sleeves.$700 on ebay.87-89mm bore. the best by far. If you want to work with the head go for it, itll give you a lil bit more HP, but remember turbo is all bottom end anywayz.....

^^Mr. Blake can't wait to have kids.

OP, if those links do not help, you're outta luck and if you still want your engine built, just get your engine builder and tell him you want a boosted engine and let him do everything, otherwise you're not gonna get the right stuff.

I have a fully built h22, go sleeved and forged pistons. I have a port and polish, but stock size valvetrain and stock IM. Shooting for 500-600 whp.

bore? er sleeves?
i dunno about the 1pc gasket.
best depends on your power goals. more power more expensive stuff. i'd leave the head alone... lots o headache.

Yah....and theres no power in the head anyway!....
Heres the head poll I created.

You have to spend money on the head if you want to make good power......The HEAD is where the power lies.

not saying it doesn't make power. its just alot of headache. the stiffer springs can do more damage than its worth. i just don't think its worth it for a dd. plus he's boosting. the hp per dollar just doesn't add up. port the head, leave the stock valve train, get some cam gears, boost and tune. just my 2c.

best is always open for interpretation, it's all a matter of opinion.

theres a bunch of idiots in here.
if you are going boost, then there is no point in going with a bigger bore but if you go NA and you are looking for the most hp possible then bore it out.

not gonna hurt anything, boring will give you more power than stock bore will.
