Default Rear Disc Brake Question on 2002 Accord V6 EX

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and have a quick question. I just got finished putting Friction Master ceramic pads on my wife's 2002 Accord V6 EX model. I ran across something with the rear inboard brake pad that has me a little concerned. The original pad has a locating pin that locks into the "cross hairs" on the piston. The new pads do not have this. I understand that you rotate the piston clockwise to retract it into its bore, and I assume this rotating is what allows the emergency brake mechanism to self adjust. I may be wrong, as I am used to working on Ford trucks, and other larger vehicles. I haven't messed with Honda's much. Anyway, is this locating pin essential? Any insight on the inner workings of the rear calipers would be helpful, as I am used to the old fashioned ones that you just retract with a c-clamp, so this whole rotate to retract thing was new to me.
Thanks,
Jerry

I wouldent worry about it. Most aftermarket pads dont have that locating pin on them.

You're right about that being the handbrake self-adjust mechanism. Even without that little pin, there's still plenty of friction to prevent the piston from rotating in use.
