Default Bike theft rate?

Just curious how often bikes get stolen. Are they easy to steal? Wondering because Im thinking about cancelling my insurance..(no insurance in WA is required) but this is the only thing holding me back. Im already sick of the 318.00 a month payment for liability and comp.

Are there any alarms or security systems for them?

nothing works. People will drag the bike off chirping away. The best you can do keep it under a watchful eye or hidden in a garage/trailer/etc...

That website confused the heck out of me...it didnt seem to have much information about what to purchase for specific applications. A tracking system would be nice and cheaper than insurance. I called lo jack but they dont offer service in WA. Im thinking about getting a Scorpio alarm with paging. Anyone have experience with this alarm?

Call them it is the best way to get imformation. They have many differerent options. I think you would need their cellular tracking system. It is trackable anywhere in the US. I called a while back their tracking device is rather expensive upfront. The service I think is $30 a month. Your could track your bike from any computer at any time 24-7.

I once saw a show from England where they staged a bike theft in public. and EVERYONE how saw theguys speed up, have trouble throwing the bike in the back of a truck and speed off never even gave them a second look.

one guy even help them get it in the truck.

Only way to be safe is to leave it in the garage or park it somewhere you an keep an eye out....NOT the mall or anyplace else like the mall.

nothing beats a 1" thick cable lock wrapped around both wheels, the frame, and a sold metal or concrete pilar. I have yet to do this.
