First off I live in Socal and I was coming home from the airport and that's how the story begins.
I was going home from 105fwy going on ramp to 605 North driving normal minding my business and all of sudden out of no where, I see this guy tail gating me, while we are on the ramp!!!! There was mild traffic, so there is no where for me to go. When I looked back to my back mirror, I notice the headlight, and I realized it was a civic.(I drive a Fiji Si BTW)
and finally off the ramp to the 605.....the car passed me by and it was a White Civic Si with no lic.plate. I was so pissed?? Usualy when I see another Si owner they give me a thumbs up and a smile, but this guy was just being a jerk. So I just started tailing him like there was no tomorrow, and wanted to follow him home but I didn't want to over do myself..

i took the same route you did only 24 hours before lol.

tailgaters bring out the worst in me. this one night time one guy was on my *** after exiting. then theres a whole stretch of road about 7 miles long. he was on my *** with his high beams on. everytime a car came the opposite directiion he would turn off his high beams and turn them back on. i dont even wanna post here about what i did to that guy and his car.

Someone doesn't deserve to own an Si because they tailgated you on an on ramp? Maybe he was just playing with you and you were the jerk that tailed him and was going to follow him home. Was that necessary?

When someone tailgate me, I just drive like a grandma and have everybody else pass me left and right while keeping just him behind my butt. lol What he gonna do really? rare end you?

 

I slow down gradually till they do something stupid(er).

 

The other day I was doing 55 in a 35 and a big SUV was riding my ***, so I spiked the brakes really hard just to see that "oh my god, I think I just **** my pants" look on their face. Needless to say, they stopped riding my ***.

same. if tehre arent any other ppl on the road ill just turn off cruise control and coast. One time both lanes on either side of me were clear, so i was going 40 on the freeway by the time he passed me.

 

i just slam on my brakes. most back off and never wanna pass you.

i do a few things when this happens........

slow down to the point where he's pissed and goes around.

If that doesn't work, ill speed back up, grab some m&m's, skittles, etc....... and start throwing handfulls out my sun roof. that really gets them going.

 

i like to slow down, then when they go to pass me i speed back up and dont let them around me. Or i just slam on my brakes. I like the skittles or m&m idea though

 

I don't drive a white si but I just want to vent about slow drivers in general. Since you were on the ramp that doesn't count. But ******* who drive on the far left lane doing the speed limit are the ones that cause the accident. Haven't you seen those signs " slow vehicles merge right" There is no law that faster drivers drive on the far left but it's kinda rule of thumb thing. So if you *** is on the far left lane and you see a car comming up your rear view mirror fast then merge over to the right lane, if not 10 different cars will have to get out of your way cuzz you're blocking the fast lane. Most of these daymm cars that block the fast lane are camary and corrola's! I hate seeing a honda blocking the fast lane. If you do, you should trade your honda in for a yaris or something.

 

i don't like tailgaters at all, but i admit i hate slow drivers. usually when i'm being tailgated, i just drive faster or switch lanes. no point in holding people back. i especially hate people driving slow in turns. i usually tail people in the turns if they're slow and i pull away after.

the streets are different. i hate people who drive 30 in a 45. i will tailgate you if your not doing the speedlimit and theres no way around. same with the turns. i wont be real real rude about it though, i will simply get on your ***, fall back, just to let them know..... "go atleast the speed limit *******". im the most impatient person alive......

freeway is different though. i have no tolerance with tailgaters on the freeway.

I don't like that so much from a legal standpoint, but it works. I would rip my e brake briefly causing a nice screach of the tires and cause a lil smoke. I find this much more effective.

I love doing that!!!!!! I will go down to 25 MPH. I use this technique going back and forth from phoenix to las vegas in the Semi I drive for work. its a 2 lane highway 95% of the way in arizona and I get a lot of tailgaters despite traveling 10-15 mph over the speed limit. I also use this technique when I pass someone impeding the flow of traffic traveling in a prime lane of travel going 20 or more MPH under the limit.

You're the worst dumbass ever. YOU should get your si taken away bc with dumb actions like that, even if it isn't your fault which it is in case two cars colide, your ECU will tell the dealer you pushd the brakes all of the sudden.
Please go play in traffic or better yet go do the same to a cop.

why would they go through your ECU to investigate? aren't all accidents where you are hit from behind always the fault of the driver behind you? if they try to argue that you slammed your brakes all you have to say is you saw a cat crossing the road and you almost most hit it. end of story...you get a new car.

then, youre lying. The other guy can pretty much ask to scalate the hearing and ask for a honda certified shop to take a look at the ecu at that time during the day. Following a police report, if you go at 40 and suddenly slam the brakes, even the guy behind you having about 4 cars length won't have time to react. Thus, even if u lie you will get caught...why? you always get caught...you will pay from your packet for what the techs did to check your ECU, pay court fees, get sued for insurance fraud, etc.

might not even make it to court. the guy behind will be too shook up to argue his situation. tailgaters know they're wrong if they cause an accident.

 

You know, thats the thing about owning an Si. Either other imports want to race you constantly or they rev you up or tailgate. Thats odd an si did that to you usually when i see an si or a nice honda/acura i gibe em the thumbs like you do hell even an evo. Those are just dudes that dont have anything else going for em in life and need to prove something. Don't trip about it bud.

 

unless someone was killed... the police wont be checking anyones ecu at a dealership..... have you ever been in an accident? the police come fill out a report you exchange insurance information and thats it... a cop gives you his card if you have any questions but other than that his part is done.. the insurance company can do an investigation but unless someone dies the police are pretty much over it.
