Industrial Strength Epoxy-
I'm doing a full strip down of my Accord right now, and am wondering if it would be safe to grind all that epoxy out that is brushed over the seams of the interior? Is that stuff for structural binding of the different pieces of the unibody together or is it welded, then covered with that to keep it water tight?
I'd like to remove all that crapola so I can get a nice, clean surface to paint, but don't want the car to fall apart if I do.
If this is something that can be remedied by adding a roll cage, then great -That's the plan as of now.

that stuff is just seam sealer, all it does is prevent water from getting between the spot welds and rusting them. If that happens your car could literally split in half. all you need to do is strip the old stuff, and apply a very small bead of silicone to the seams and spread it smooth. it doesnt need to be blobed on like from the factory.
