Default HID wiring, can i use 1 relay for both HID headlight??

quick question guys
i am gonna wire my HID to my JDM headlights.
i am gonna put a direct wire from the battery, wire it to a 30A relay, then connect it to my HID.

my question is, can i connect both of my HID to that 30A relay? or i need to make 2 separate wires to connect each HID??

Basically: Wire -> Relay -> HID1 (25A fuse) -> HID2 (25A fuse)

Here is a graphical representation

If the 30A relay is not enough, can i switch it to a bigger relay and use 1 wiring instead of 2 separate wire?

I would like to set it up using as little wire as possible. Also, which gauge of wire going from Battery to relay? 8GA? or 16GA?

And how does the relay work? is a 5pin relay,
85, 86, 87, 87, 30
So i am guessing
85 -> Light switch +
86 -> Light switch -
87 -> Battery direct wire +
87 -> Battery direct wire -
30 -> HID light?

you should always fuse the line from the battery at least 8-12 inches down..

bat --- 8-12in ----> fuse ----> relay ---> ballasts

the fuse and relay that you should use should have a max amp rating that is total of the max amp rating on the ballasts or just under that.

this way your relay, and ballasts are protected.. and not just the ballasts.

If the load is less then 30A you can use one standard SPST 30A automotive relay.

I see you have a 25A fuse at each HID "ballast", is that the way the system came, a 50A load, or is it just a 25A load?

Either way the fuse(s) should be as close as possible to the supply, [batt.] as bpr0422 mentions.

If each ballast needs a 25A fuse then a 50A fuse needs to be installed close to the batt. and 2 relays should be used, or one 50A relay. 94

I believe on most ballasts the currect draw at first startup is between 15 and 20 amps. On my car I used a seperate 30 amp relay for each ballast. I recommend checking out the forums at http://www.hidplanet.com You'll learn anything that you need to know there! Retrofitting OEM parts is the only way to go!
