Every new generation, Honda makes the economy Civic less and less appealing to modify.

There isn't much power to be made in the 01-05 base Civics, unless you put a K in...and these new ones, with the manifold integrated into the head and the catalytic convertor placement...eh...

Just trade your r18 in for a Si if you want to turbo your car.

Many cars, like Z06 and high end cars have "plastic manifolds" Its not a bad thing, most of the held alot to limit heat soak. LS1, LS2, LS6,LS7 all have them, the truck verisons of those engines, chevy 4.8,5.3,6.0,8.1 also have them. The one thing they are not the best for is high boost apts. over 18psi.

That's when you get the ballooning. Then you get chunks of plastic going on a magical journey through your engine. Great success!

Nitrous backfires do even worse things to plastic manifolds.. ever see bits of plastic fly though a hood?

I'm looking for a particular 4.6l modular mustang clip but I'm having trouble finding it. little plastic bits straight through his fiberglass hood.. lol

found this too, kinda weird though... entertaining

The ZO6 and other cars utilize "plastic" components to reduce weight. It's part of the reason why it's an 11 second car STOCK and handles amazingly well with a near-perfect weight distribution. And when you're pushing that kind of power, high boost applications on an LS7 motor are really not necessary to yield significant power gains.

It's really not fair to compare a ZO6 to a Honda Civic.

A k swap may yeild a lot more power. But, i wouldnt ruled out an r18 turbo when you'll have a little more horsepower and shitloads more torque. However dont be mad when i fliy by u around the turns in my si.
