Default civic to prelude motor swap

So my friend wants to buy my 87 civic motor and put it in, I think its a 90 prelude. I told him it wouldnt work cuz its a different generation and a whole different style but, will the bare block still swap over if its the same type of motor? I still have yet to find out what motor is in the prelude. reson being that we think the prelude block is cracked, I have to look at it again but thats the guess we made on it. and also theres not a whole lot of better motor sitting around where we live.

just look at the stamp thats on his block. but i dont think this swap would be good for the prelude. the civic motor for a 87 civic is alittle too week for a 90 prelude. I could be wrong but i thought prelude of that year all 2.0 motors. i would recommend he go to a local junk yard.
