Default Question about removing exhaust

Hey guys,

I got an 04 gsxr-600 and i have a Micron slip on that sounds like **** so what i was trying to do is take it off and make a steel tip like a shortie exhaust to look like the Moto GP bikes. I know its going to be louder and it would sound deeper considering its pretty much going to be headers midpipe out SO my question is does having no muffler physically hurt the bikes engine? Perfomance? What are the pros and cons of that? Any input would be appreciated

It's just going to sound like ***. Only louder.

You'll probably lose back pressure and in turn midrange power. I don't know all that about motorcycle performance but that would be my guess.

i took the muffler off of my 03 r6 and it was LOUD. im not talking "wow thats a loud exhaust", im talking helen keller could hear it. i dont think it sounded bad, but its deff not neighbor friendly. as far as performance, i dont think it would hurt anything, but prolly wouldnt help anything. i only putted down the street and back at maybe 15mph so i dont know how it effects the bike really.
