Default Fluidyne Radiator Problems

My car is a 88 hatch back bottom of the line model.
I just bought the Fluidyne half sized radiator (part# FHP11-88CRX.5). According to Fluidyne it will fit. But it dont fit worth a "(*%^@".

The bottom water inlet hits the crossmeber and the cap hits the inner hood. Has anyone else tried to do this setup in a EF civic? Am I just missing something. I researched the web and others are having the same problem with the Fluidyne radiator.

I think i got hosed by Fluidyne.
Thanks for all the possitve feed back that you can give!!!

yes had same problem with my half size, they said it was for an EF but its the same radiator as an EG. I ended up moving my lower mounts and it still rubbed on the hood. I had to trim my ribbing on my CF hood

the Fluidyne radiator is the exact same size as the the EG radiators. only difference is, the mounting pins on the bottom are moved to a different location to accomadate the EF radiator mounts.
But i have by-passed the mounts all together and the damn thing sits on the front cross member and hits the hood.

I wonder if I need to get an after market crossmember to make more room or if i need to redesign the the bootom where the radiator sits.

It will fit barely witha aftermarket crossmember. Even then you need to modify the underside of your hood for clearance reasons.

I called LSD Motorsports and spent about 30 minutes on the phone with the sales guy (Mike). We talked about everything possible about this problem, he assured me that his crossmember would work with the Fluidyne radiator. I told him "OK, what do I have to lose".

The sales guy told me to give him 10 minutes and he would call me back. This guy went the extra mile. He called Fluidyne himself to verify all the measurements and details. Then matched it to his product. Then called me back and guaranteed me that his cross member would work with my Fluidyne radiator or my money back. That is F*cking service. This cross member will be a drop in fit, no hassle deal.

So needless to say I am buying the crossmember. When I get it installed I will be back to confirm if this works or not.

just to keep you guys updated....check out this link where I have been talking to the Fluidyne Tech's for the past week. I actually have been talking to Fluidyne (for the radiator) and LSD Motorsports (for the JK traction bar) over the phone/emails for the past week.

But anyways check this out.
