Prepping for mpfi swap
Hey everyone
Im about to do a mpfi swap on my 91 crx dx as a first time learning experience ( with a friend who knows how of course ). I just have a couple of NOOB questions that im curious about, like how to drain the coolant. I know we're going to swap manifolds, but where do I drain the coolant from, since we're just removing the mani from the head...is it from the radiator or the engine block? I have never drained the coolant before, so that's why I ask. And what else needs to happen before the swap? ie Order of what hoses to remove first..etc.
Ive researched on how to drain coolant, like removing a bolt, but what do you guys use to avoid the mess? Wouldn't it splatter everywhere? Yeah, pretty novice stuff, but im learning !
Thanks for anyone who can help, I just want to know as much as I can before we do the swap!

you dont really need to drain the whole radiator but it might avoid a mess so how you do that is on the radiator on the passenger side there is a plastic wing bolt and you just unscrew that and it will drain.
To help it drain faster take the radiator cap off.

It is no where near as hard as you think. As long as you have done the research...and have patience...you'll be fine.
The drain plug is on the bottom left corner of the rad(if you are looking at it from the front of the vehicle) Mine was finger loose...You don't have to take it all the way out... Just back it out enough to open up the little drain hole.
Very easy to not make a mess. Just have a small enough jug to catch it.
