Default I scratched my bumper.. best way to fix? :(

Its not a bad enough damage to replace the whole bumper, its a moderatly deep scratch, nothing severe but something i'd definitly like removed, I have the plain old vynil (non painted) bumpers, are there really any ways to get rid of some of the damage?

I'll probably be made fun of for this but.. would it be so bad of an idea to put some thin tape over it , and spray down the entire bumper? lol, sorry i had to ask.

I deal with scratches on cars everyday, all day. If you post up a pic I will pretty much be able to tell you if it will come out or not.

lol . dont use tape then paint it.. get some plastic filler apply it then sand it smooth then paint it flat black.. but it probably wont match the colour of the other bumper.

sand it down, prep it, and have it colormatched

X2... thats too deep to be dealt with any other way. it looks like there is an edge there on the left so it'll need to be sanded down 100%

funny enough if you go to an atv shop (dirtbikes, snowmobiles, quads etc) they might be able to look at it, some are very good at colormelt and things of the like.

hey i work in a body shop, the bumpers on our cars are textured ,by sanding you are going to remove the texture,it looks like you may be able to coumpound the paint transfer a liitle bit to clean it up it wont be perfect but may look better ,also you may try to dust a little spray bomb on the damaged area to hide it a little ,or just clean up the damaged area and spray bomb the whole bumper like others have said

Yeah i'll probably just sand it, with what grit paper do you recommend? then paint the whole bumper, they are getting faded anyways.
