i was looking at the ultimate h22 swap guide thing and this came from that:


The irony of it all, is that, unfortunately, a lot of tuners unfortunately will spend $2300 or more on an H22A only to wreck the valve train resulting in over a thousand dollars in repairs or worse, an entirely new engine only a few months later because of a factory defective autotensioner.

Honda has tried to fix this problem for years, but the secret lies in converting to a manual tensioner from a relative of the H22A. In our guide, not only will you get a detailed how-to on how to fix the problem, but also included is every detail down to the part numbers you need to reference at your local Honda parts counter.

Its better to change out the h22 auto tensioner to the manual tensioner the h23's have the auto tensioner is crap over 7500 rpm's
