Currently have a Sparco Evo as my driver's seat... Pretty comfy, even daily driven. Fantastic on the track as well. Great lateral support in high speed turns and during fast transitions.

How do you compare the racing seats to the 04 civics? It seems like Honda tried to upgrade the coupes seats from before.

I havent sat in the 04 seats, but any reclinable factory seat will be NOTHING like a true race bucket. It is an entirely different experience.

Depends what kind of Sparco you get... The Evo costs about the same as the Recaro SPG... and is about $75-100 cheaper than the Zeta III...

The cheap Sparcos are the entry level seat... the shell is going to be FRP for sure, the design will prevent movement but certainly wont be ergonomical, the fabric will not be on par with the more expensive seats, and it will just look a bit cheap. Like the Sprint/etc.

this'll be my first time with racing seats. sounds like its definitely worth the extra money to get a good high quality set. i'll prolly start out wiht just the drivers seat and spread the cost around.

as far as seat rails go sounds like ppl tend to mix and match. whats the difference between rails?

It's a good idea to spend a little extra when it comes to seats. In this dept, you really get what you pay for.

As far as the rails go, it is mostly preference in height. Im 6'3", so I opted for a set of super low rails. Once I had everything installed, I sat about 3" lower than I had with my stock seat in place. Made a huge difference, I am much more comfortable driving at this height.

I'll have to ask my mechanic... Im using the Sparco side mounts, but the rails were done custom by my mechanic.

I dont know how many companies make rails for the EM2s... They are not exactly the most popular cars.

But any decent performance shop should be able to whip something up pretty easily. I had mine fabbed, painted black, and installed in a day.

My buddy has a pair of those in his Cobra... They are nowhere near on par w/ the Evo. Much less comfortable for daily driving. The leather areas around the places susceptible to wear are convenient, but look cheap IMO.

But they are decent for a $250 seat. One Evo costs considerably more than a pair of Forzas...

I used to have a forza but I got rid of it for 2 reasons, 1) it was to wide for me (I'm 165lbs) the forza fits up to a 38 inch waist or something 2) the tube frame comstruction is way uncomfortable. If you do go this route (its a good seat for the money) I would highly recomend shelling out for the optional lumbar pad. Otherwise the back of the seat is completely flat.
