Default help..

hey guys, my friend has an 87 accord. its a piece but it was free. anyway, it has a problem starting after it has run for a while. then it could sit for about an hour and start right up again. its really weird. but this is the weird part, if you unplug the ecu under the seat and then start cranking it while you plug it back in at the same time it will run untill you turn it off. it has a motor from another year in it. its a A26A3 i dont know what was in there before. i was wondering if the ecu might be for the other motor and if it was could that be why its doing this? i would love your help and if you guys have any questions just let me know but i can only post 5 times a day.

Lol, the hard start I've seen but not the ECU problem.

The hard start may be the dizzy being worn out or too hot. Does he have any sputtering problems?

try posting this here...
https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum/106

I think for the most part users in the Accord forum don't have much experience with the pre-90's Accords. But the forum I posted a link to above is dedicated to the older (pre-88) Hondas hopefully you'll get a better response there.

If you'd like, I can move this thread over there for you, or you can just post a new thread in that forum.

Also, you are able to post more than 5 times, I don't see anything that would restrict you to only 5 a day.
