So I went and changed the headgasket and upgraded to arp headstuds. Get everything back together mind you im using the same water pump, cams, tensioner, Everything and now the t-belt wont fit....wth. The tensioner is not tight and I tried with the spring on/off and its to short.........what the hell could cause this. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I tried it with the spring off, the only way I got it on was with taking the tensioner all the way off and then holding the t belt over as hard as I could and threading the tensioner in but is it supposed to be that damn tight? it sure as *** didnt feel like that comin off.

well after the 2am *** with it session I have gotten it on but I couldve sworn it was a helluva lot easier getting off. One of the downsides to drinking and wrenching I guess . I had to get it on there by looping it around the cams, lower crank pulledy, water pump, and then working it onto the tensioner. But i still have a few questions.

1. on c speedracing they take the lower crank pulley and match it up with the notch on the block and then when the belts on turn it counter clockwise three teeth........but this is the only time ive seen this mentioned (im not doubting them they obviously know there ****) but is this totally necessary?

2. The notchs on the came gears are lined up but the "up" markings on the cam gears dont excatly match very well......im guessing they just put that there to let you know what side needs to be up then ugh?

some dumb questions I know but I always question some stupid **** when doing stuff like this.

thanks
Joey
