i have a blown h22a1 engine and was planning to get a h23 block for it. i was wondering what are the parts that are interchangable with it (waterpump, oil pump, etc.). basically everything that bolts on to the block. i don't want to get the block and not be able to bolt on my h22 parts to it. if it's too much or too hard, i mind as well find a h22 block. btw, i have the internals already. thanks.

but i remember the waterpump is different. i'm pretty sure there are some other parts that are also different. i guess i'll just find me a h22 block. that way i could hook up my old parts on it with out problems.

The timing belts are different between the two, so h22 pump for h22 head and h23 pump for h23 head. Same for the lower timing gear and other timing stuff.

I PRESENTLY DOING THIS SWAP ALSO AND WHAT I'VE LEARNED IS YOU NEED THESE PARTS
H22 WATER PUMP
H22 LOWER GEAR
H22 TIMING BELT
H22 REAR WATER PIPE
H22 THORMASTATE HOUSING
H22 HEAD STUDS
H22 HEAD & MAINFOLD(H23 SENSORS ARE THE SAME)
THE ONLY THING THAT IM NOT SURE ABOUT USING IS THAT AUTO TENSIONER FROM THE H22. THE H23 HAS A DIFFERNT TENSIONER.
