Default DOHC ZC questions.

Hey how's it going everyone? :D I'm new to the honda boards and i'm also new to owning a honda in general. I recently picked up a 1990 Civic Hatch w/ a DOHC ZC in it for 400 bucks + a 15'' SoloBaric L7 and a memphis amp.. :D. i searched around for DOHC ZC and didn't find anything i was looking for.

But down to the point. I know NOTHING about this engine. All i know is that it's a DOHC 1.6 non vtec motor. out of the older integras. 130ish hp. and that is all. haha. yea i'm pretty newb to this. I'll post pictures up tomorrow when a friend lets me borrow his camera. but for right now. it runs strong. it feels as if the motor mounts are shot though. the linkage on the shifter might be lose. the shifter is so damn floppy. (IE: it's like running but naked w/ your ***** hitting each side of your leg constantly. haha) but what i'm wondering is, What do i look for when it comes to maintanence etc? i'm going to do a little more mild build on the suspension then i am with anything else.

What valve cover gasket can i get to use on the ZC valve cover? is there a available gasket kit set for this motor at any site? What kind of motor mounts could i use for it? spark plugs i can probably figure out once i pull the ones that are in it out to check the part # to cross it over. What about the distributor cap, spark plug wires and rotor? what do i get those from? (year and models would help TONS. i don't know much about honda codes really) also any place online that sells some pretty good door lock cylinders and ignition cylinders w/ keys at a good price/not so raping price?

Sorry to be asking so many questions as my first post. I hope you guys can help me out without flaming me to bad about the search function. thanks in advance!

-Omar

valve cover gasket, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires - all the same as 88-89 Integra - motor mounts from 88-91 CRX/Civic

Just another thing about the engine:

There are different variations of the DOHC ZC and you are somewhat correct in saying that they're from the older Integras. They are similar to the D16A1 found in the 1st generation Integras but not the same. Different motor mounts, manifolds, and lots of other stuff. The DOHC ZC is truly in its own class motor-wise. However, there are many parts that are shared with the 88-89 D16A1 and the D16A6 (88-91 CRX/Civic Si motor).

If you need more advice about proper parts, there is a good link in the FAQ for the proper parts for this motor.

transmission mount is 88-91 CRX/Civic - clutch and flywheel is also CRX/Civic - the only things that are Integra are valvetrain parts, distributor, distributor cap, plug wires and cylinder sensor - everything else is the same as CRX/Civic D16A6 - the transmission would also be CRX/Civic - which model is kind of hard to tell

jlicrx is by far the most helpful person i've run to. so here's my future a JDM dohc ZC head on a D16a6 SOHC block. hey don't flame the valve cover see what you get when you pay $20 for a complete head. lol. i will be going back to the original colour, black top.

Yikes. Does that even run? I've seen some similar projects happen that end up failing miserably.
