I order all my stuff from Terra Powersports (http://www.terrapowersports.com). A friend has had good success with Sprocket Specialists (I think it's http://www.sprocketspecialists.com). Also, Knee Draggers has good prices (http://www.kneedraggers.com).

If your friend is looking to change out the front sprocket, he might want to look at changing the rear sprocket and chain as well. A new front sprocket will wear out faster with an old chain and rear sprocket. Typically, the chain is the most expensive part.

As for increasing "torque," a smaller (less toothed) front sprocket, or a larger (more toothed) rear sprocket is what he will want. A real general statement is one tooth down in the front is equivalent to 3 teeth up in the rear. Going down too many teeth in the front is very bad for chain life because (IIRC) the chain has to make a sharper bend.

This doesn't actually increase power output, but merely puts the bike's operating rpm, at a given speed, higher up.

+1 in doing the whole drive train together. You'll get even wear and its a nice excuse to upgrade to a 520.

Think about doing -1 up front and +1 or +2 in the back with a 520 chain. Its a night/day difference.
