Civic Door Weight Reduction
I searched this forum and the welding & fab. forum and couldn't find anything on this topic. If you know of something already posted, then please point me in the right direction.
I want to reduce the weight of my factory doors (96 Civic 2dr) while still being able to use my interior door panels. What can be trimmed off of the doors aside from omitting obvious parts and installing door pulls and lexan windows? Also, has anyone lightened their trunk lid?
Please, only responses from individuals with actual experience. I have enough theories and ideas of my own. I would like to know what other people have had success with. Any help and pictures would be great. Thanks!

i dont know if the 96's are the same, but the 92's-95's have a crash bar inside the door you can remove. be prepared to do some cutting and drilling though. and a piece of piano wire would also make things go smoother.
Yeah, they have that impact brace too. I forgot to put in my original post that I'm not afraid of cutting or drilling. It seems like that is the only way to take some more weight off outside of leaving the panel off and all that other good stuff.
pick up a set of jdm doors and cut the expletive out of those haha, no impact beams and dont have to worry about screwing up your only set of doors

The 96 has a double bar style compared to the EG, They are only attached on each side of the door and then held down by a rubber compound (this will come of after you cut each side) I wouldnt recommend this for a daily driver though. I am going to do a second set of doors because of this.
