Default Cam Gear Off one tooth?

I am curious if it is even possible to get a car to start and run if lets say the belt on the intake cam is off by one tooth. Plus or minus one.
I can say that I have never heard anyone comment on this.

Yes, it will run with the cam gear or gears off a tooth.

ITR Intake and exhaust cams. I was just having some difficulty getting the car to idle correctly. I am going to change back to a TB that I know works fine.

I am still in the process of trouble shooting the problem. I didn't know enough about a misset cam gear to confirm if it was part of the problem. Since I was able to get the car to basically idle I an fairly confident that it is not the cams.
