Brake line, SS, or whatever you need - prebent or straight
Two Parts; recommendation, and question:
Part 1: I just thought I'd throw this out there just in case anyone is looking for a decent place to buy brake/fuel line or whatever type of tubing you need. The guy is pretty nice, and if you send him your old stuff or a blueprint, he can make prebent lines for you, flared to whatever spec you need (45 double, 37, single, bubble, etc.), with whatever fitting you need, metric/standard, thread pitch, size, etc., and the prices seem reasonable...or you can just buy straight line, or straight line with flared ends so you you don't have to pull your hair out and kick the wall trying to use a double flaring tool while simultaneously mangling and ruining your new brake line
Part 2: Before I go any further, does anyone know if SS lines are really and truly any better than stock OE lines? I've heard that it depends on the kind of SS you buy, and I've also heard that unless you drive in the northeast or anywhere where the State heavily sands/salts the roads, it doesn't make a bit of diff because the line shouldn't rust if it's not exposed to salt.
I'm in NY, so if this will prolong life of the lines or at least keep them looking nice (for my own piece of mind - it's disheartening to look down in your engine bay and see critical components looking like a ball of rust at the joints/seams), I'd like to know...
...oh yeah, that website is:
http://www.classictube.com/
On the website it lists mostly American made cars, or a few exotics I think...but if you call them, they will do custom work for you.
The guy (I think his name is Tim if I recall correctly) that handles most of the ordering told me that the cost/price diff between OE/regular steel and their 304 SS is negligible.
Opinions?
Thanks

thanks you, looks like a good place. unfortunatly i bet this gets locked since there is no tech. Maybe you could edit and throw some in asking opinions on whether ss are really better or not? I would like to know myself, but it isnt my thread.
