questions about owning 07 si
i recently leased a 07 si and was wondering. Do u guys warm up the engine in the morning because it idles at like 2000rpm? When is it ok to start redlining? I know its 1000 miles but can we do it sooner?

Leased? Ugh.
Financial opinion aside, welcome to the (Edit: '06+ Civic section of) HT! For almost all of your quesions, you can search and find answers.
But, yes, I think some of us do let our Si warm up in the morning. All of us have differing ideas on how long, but you should at least let it idle for 10 seconds to let the oil get around and lubricate. I personally let the RPMs get down to 1500, then I drive, and stay under 3500RPM until I get 4 bars, and I won't go over 5500RPM until it's at normal operating temp.
As far as taking it all the way to redline...that's another personal opinion. But Honda says 600 miles for break-in. Then you can start using the engine to it's full potential. Personally, I think that using it's full potential right from the lot, but smoothly and not erratically, is a good idea. But there's too many theories to even start that debate. Search around on that one

yea i was hittin vtec off the lot but i wouldnt beat it too bad. leasing isnt too bad i guess if you arent into modding that beast. would be nice gettin a new vehicle everytime the lease is up lol.
I personally let it idle until it gets close to 1k. If I don't, it makes me look like an idiot who just learned how to drive a stick. Its very jerky.
