Race Watch East Coast - USGP
Anybody in the general vicinity of NoVa is welcome to join us. Hondabuddy, Brian, PaulBaz, et al?
For those of us that can't be at Laguna Seca for this year's, hopefully, USGP Hayden Hat Trick I'll be hosting the televised event. Fox will be airing the race live at 5pm. Speed will air AMA Supersport immediately after at 6 and if anybody feels like riding out to dinner and coming back at 11pm, Speed will also be airing AMA Superbike.
If you need my address/directions shoot me a PM.
The usual American contingent of Nicky Hayden, John Hopkins, Colin Edwards, and SomeRobertsRider will be taking the start. In addition, though, the grid will feature Miguel DuHamel and Roger Hayden riding wildcard seats with Honda and Kawasaki respectively. There will be two Team KR riders on grid: both Kenny and Kurtis will race their fathers' Honda Powered, Roberts Framed... um, BotchBikes. Neil Hodgson will be taking the AMA Superbike start on a Corona Honda after a long, undeserved absence from checkered flag riding.
Neil is a colorful personality and has a fair bit of experience at Laguna... whether he podiums or not, Superbike will be a good event for his presence. Roger's ride on Kawasaki may turn a good result. Between his experience at Laguna, a definitively rider track, and Kawasaki's leaps on the 800's this year it wouldn't be out of line to expect big things from the youngest Hayden brother... well, not too big. DuHamel's still got more time under his belt and I don't think we've heard the last of the satellite Honda teams. That, and we can't forget the rest of the Usual Suspects.
Expect to see Casey Stoner running somewhere near the front. He doesn't have the experience at Laguna that the other riders do, but it would be unfair to dismiss him. His performance this year has smashed all expectations and you can't really ever count a championship leader out. Nicky Hayden, of course, will be gunning for a third consecutive victory on home soil. The Kentucky Kid looks on good foot to reach his goal, too, with two podiums just prior to coming to America from the Dutch and German events. Colin Edwards has been showing signs of promise and he's more hungry than ever to win motocycling's premier class in front of his home town fans. Edwards' teammate, Rossi (isn't it the other way around?), will be anxious to prove that his crash out of the German GP was a fluke and that he can succeed at Laguna after two years of problems in the Californian lake bed. With those two on the tooth, though, their machines will be suffering. After Germany reports of M1 cooling problems have been spinning the rumor mill and the West Coast hasn't been kind to them in the past. John Hopkins will be rabid to win where he has be disappointed in the past - the Suzuki is better prepared to win than it has since Kenny Jr's championship season back on the BikesThatTimeForgot, too. And then there's perennial sometimes faster than everybody, old sage Loris Capirossi to watch for. Oh, and we couldn't forget Dani Pedrobo... I mean, Dani Pedrosa who will be coming off his first victory of the year and coincidentally his first display of emotion ever recorded (is anybody else reminded of the Star Trek episode when Data got his emotion chip? Something just isn't right in Oz...) All told, 2007, the first year of the 800's, should be spectacular!
Our TV is huge and there's plenty of seating. If you want to eat or drink anything bring it along - we can grill just about anything, too. There's ample parking in the neighborhood and bikes fit around back by the garage. Come cheer on, well, everybody, and keep your fingers crossed for a cameo from MM West Side. This begs the question - should we look for you all at Rainey Curve or Turn 2?

Oh damn - hot! I'm tempted to sign up and leave early! Is it an LED day?
*edit* It's not. How do you know they're running Counter Clockwise? Last time I ran there with them it was clockwise.

There was an announcement on their forums that it's going to be run counter-clockwise only on Sunday. We signed up for Intermediate because from all the reviews of STT I read the Beginner group is really quite beginner and Intermediate with STT is more like fast NESBA B, just more passing. Plus my friend and I have been consistently quick in NESBA B

you're not in Nesba I-group? huh... is .paul in B-group too? I would've thought you would've been. and B group STT isn't bad once you get out of the morning classroom sessions, least it wasn't on main.

Nah, havent had gone for my bump yet with NESBA, which i will try for this season, just need some time on main first. Paul is in B as well
huh, maybe it was just the agonizingly slow pace that we had in the sessions that I was in... This Friday is supposed to be quite empty and would be a great day to run (wish I was ready to and back together).
